Message on New Year's Eve

On the eve of the New Year, we must take stock of ourselves. We must see who we are and where we are headed. We must steer the path of our life in the right direction.

You are all Divine Beings.  You come from Divine Source. You have come here for a short stay and you will go back to your Divine Nature and Divine Home. Never degrade yourself as being a mere man living a life of sensual pleasures on Earth.

There are 10, 000  lokas or worlds in the Universe.  The highest of these is the Vaikunta Loka – the abode of Lord Vishnu. Those of you who chant the Siddha SitaRam Mantra are on way to that Loka. Those who have taken the Shaktipat of the Kundalini Maha Yoga  and are staunch Guru Bhaktas  will definitely reach there. You all have come to Earth to stay here for a short while.

As a resident of Earth, you must remember  that you are here only for a short period of time. You are a guest here on Earth. When you stay as a guest in someone’s home, you are on your best behaviour. You are well mannered towards all. Your speech is polite and sweet. You are neat and clean in your area of living. You take care of the possessions of your host and do not pollute or spoil his things or surroundings.

As guests living on earth for a short time, we must take care of the gifts bestowed on us in this world. We must respect Mother Earth and not pollute or spoil her. We must make proper use of Wind, Water and Air. These are priceless gifts which support and sustain our lives on Earth.  Mother Nature and Earth give us enough for our needs. But whatever gifts she pours is not enough for our greed.  Our greed drives us to exploit these gifts. We  ensure that only we get the maximum benefit of the fruits of Nature without seeing to the needs of others or the long term effects on our environment.

Hinduism  teaches us to respect all Nature as God. Earth is Bhu Mata or Mother Earth who is a living goddess and mother to all. Sun is Surya Devta or Sun God who spreads warmth, light and brightness to all. Wind is Vayu Devta or Wind God who is the life breath of all creatures on Earth. Water is Varun Devata or God of Water whose nectarine drops are life giving.  Trees are worshipped and all flowers , leaves, fruits are used in worship and hence respected. Animals and birds are vehicles or carriers of Gods and hence respected. All Nature is revered. When such respect is shown and Nature is worshipped, there will be proper utilization of resources and the needs of all will be served.

We need to get back to these tenets of worship of Nature to ensure that Earth and her gifts are properly utilized and not polluted, exploited and exhausted.

O Divine beings, living here on earth remember that you are guests and use whatever is given to you in the right way and share what is given with all. Teach this right approach to your children too. The attitude of thankfulness and right use of gifts and offerings is the most acceptable behaviour of a guest!

Message on the Birthday celebrations of Dhyanyogi Madhusudandasji

Dhyanyogi Madhsudandasji was one of the greatest ParamYogis ever born. He practised tapas (austerities) for over 50 years and perfected himself. The Universal Power granted him the boon of Shaktipat and blessing others. This ParamGuru  was an ocean of compassion. He saw the suffering of mankind, their pains and miseries.  He decided to grant Shaktipat to all those who came to him and sought it. He did not see the nationality, caste, creed or sex of the seeker. He did not check if a person was worthy or unworthy of receiving the blessings of Shaktipat. It was enough if a person thirsted for God and asked for Shaktipat. This was a new milestone in the Spiritual world where a person was granted Shaktipat so easily. In the past, people performed tapas or strict spiritual practices for many years. Then they were granted the Shaktipat by the Guru.

Dhyanyogi Madhusudandasji was a Paramhamsa. He was always one with the Eternal and yet of this world. He was Sri Rama Himself. He was soft spoken and very forgiving.  He was hit and hurt by many people throughout his life. He forgave all and continued in his quiet smiling way. His spiritual stature was such that when he did the Sita Ram Manta, Hanuman appeared in front of him and he spoke to Hanuman in person. Hanuman gave him darshan on regular basis and spoke to him the way we meet and speak to each other. The vibrations from the Guru were unique. Those who had his darshan even once were benefitted greatly.

Many who visited him had wrong thinking, negative approach and negative vibrations. They were not able to see him for what he was. They did not receive the darshan and were not benefitted.  The blessings which flow from the sight of a great saint were not received by them. The shortcoming was not in the Guru but in those who came to see him.

Today we bow in honour of this Great Guru on his 133rd birthday celebration. May his blessings always be with us!

The Protector and Provider – a historical story

Man has great ego. He thinks he is the one who does everything. He feels that it is because of him, his family eats and survives. He has this unshakable belief that the entire world revolves around him.

Life existed on earth before man. Trees, plants, fruits, flowers, insects, fish, birds were there everywhere. Nature provided food, water and shelter for every living creature.  But when man came, he began to lord over  and control all other creatures.  He developed this fallacy that he is King of all that he surveys and he is the caretaker and giver of food and comforts to all including fellow creatures.

Many people who are vested with little or more authority think that they are caretakers of mankind. Kings and rulers, presidents and ministers, local mayors and policemen and family men – all think that they are the  providers for men and animals. While they do work and administer, the actual providing of food and water is done by Nature  Herself.  As man’s ego swells he forgets God and begins to think he is God.

Great Gurus teach man that he is not the creator or provider but God is. They smash the ego of man and show him the path to Light. One such Guru was Shree Swami Ramdas – the Sadguru of Veer Shivaji Maharaj. Once when Shivaji was at a fort which was under construction, Shree Swami Ramdas arrived there. Seeing him, Shivaji offered the respect due to a Guru of very high stature. As Shivaji walked around showing Shree Swami Ramdas the work being done, a feeling of pride swelled in Shivaji. He was the King.  He was Protector and Provider.  Shree Swami Ramdas could feel this wrong emotion well up in Shivaji. He saw that Shivaji had superior qualities in him and could do a lot of  good work for Hinduism and for his people if guided well. He decided to break down Shivaji’s ego and show him the truth of life – that God is the provider and man is the receiver of His Grace. Vanity breaks down the ability of man to receive Grace.

Shree Swami Ramdas ordered one of the workers there to break a particular rock. When the rock  cracked into two pieces, there was a hollow inside and a frog jumped out. Inside the hollow was water and food for the frog. “Look at that frog Shiva,” he said.  “It has survived due to your protection. You have provided for even that frog. You are indeed a great king.” Right understanding and shame flashed in Shivaji’s mind. He removed his turban and offered it to the Great Guru along with his kingdom. After that Shivaji ruled his kingdom with the remembrance that he was merely a tool but God was the Provider and Protector.

Be like Shivaji. Be a tool in the hands of God. Remember God at all times.  Keep the SitaRam vibrating silently within you at all time. When you live this way you will give your best and maximised performance and the results would be those as dictated by the Supreme Power

Intensity of Mantra Chanting & its Blessings- Draupadi

Mantra Japa or chanting of the mantra is one of the easiest ways of increasing devotion to God. It is simple and it involves no great costs or equipment. The mantra bestowed by the Guru is chanted as per the instructions given and the blessings of the mantra flow.  In Bhagwad Gita, Bhagwan Yogeshwar Sri  Krishna says in the chapter Vibhuti Yoga: ‘I am, among the  Yogas, the Japa Yoga.’

Draupadi, who married the Panch Pandavas in Mahabharat is one of the Panch Maha Kanyas. She was Shakti swarupa- form of Shakti- and it is recommended to remember her every morning to get rid of sins.  Such was her purity and bhakti. Draupadi had deep spiritual love for Sri Krishna and it was reciprocated in full by the Bhagwan. They were Bhakt and Bhagwan- devotee and God.  Draupadi’s love for Sri Krishna was so strong that Sri Krishna became her personal saviour in all the troubles and turbulences in her life.

Being a princess and then later a Queen, Draupadi had immense responsibilities and duties. She and her husbands were always targeted by their cousins, the Kauravas.  Her family had to suffer through royal plots for assassinations, defamation, dethroning and exile. Through all the political turmoil and problems, Draupadi always held on to Sri Krishna in her mind and heart  and did her work throughout the day remembering him. And Sri Krishna too reciprocated by rushing to her rescue every time there was a crisis.

Subadra, the sister of Sri Krishna was jealous of Draupadi. She knew how much her brother loved Draupadi. Sri Krishna  even called Draupadi his sister. She could not understand why Sri Krishna loved Draupadi so much and what Draupadi had done to deserve such love from Sri Krishna. Sri Krishna knew of this jealousy and he decided to teach Subadra a lesson. Once when Draupadi visited Sri Krishna, Sri Krishna asked Subadra to go to her room and help her dry her hair as she had just washed her hair. Draupadi was famous for her long thick gleaming tresses. Subadra went to Draupadi’s room where she found her drying her just washed hair. Subadra picked up the comb to gently untangle the knots. As she combed through the tresses, she could hear each hair on the head of Draupadi chant: Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Krishna .........    Subadra then realised what a great devotee Draupadi was and how much Draupadi loved Sri Krishna and why her brother loved her so much. And all the pettiness and jealousy from her mind vanished.

The SitaRam mantra is chanted in two ways – sitting on asan or seat and while moving around doing ones daily duties. Please chant the mantra while walking, talking, sitting, cooking, bathing, eating, sleeping, waiting for appointments, while on computer, etc. You can easily multi task with one part of your mind on the holy name. The vibrations of the name will protect you and keep you connected to the Supreme at all times. This is easily possible. It is just a matter of reminding yourself now and then to chant the name till it becomes a habit and second nature. If Draupadi, with all her responsibilities, duties and troubles, could remember Sri Krishna at all times, then we can easily do so!

Christmas - Season of Joy and Inner Renewal

It is the festive season again.  All around, it is colourful and gay. Bright lights make the world more glorious. Delicious fragrances waft from the kitchens. Shops are full of people buying and wrapping up gifts. Excitement buzzes in the air.

In the midst of all this there is also sorrow. There are countless people who don’t have money to buy gifts for their family. There are many who don’t have money to buy or bake fragrant cakes and sweets and cook a tasty dinner. There are some whose loved ones are not around. Many who can afford to eat well are sick and have dietary restrictions.

If you are one of those who has got gifts for the family but wants to go the extra mile, and one of those who cannot afford gifts for the family or one of those who has everything but wishes to gift himself something special, consider these gifts: a loving heart that understands and embraces the other as he is, some extra time to help and encourage the other, tolerance even when you don’t understand, charity – for it always begins at home, a good example to all & above all love and respect for yourself.

On this day when Christ was born, the best gift you can give yourself and others is by being a better you. Get rid of anything that is not beautiful or happy in you. The world is wondrous when you change! Pray and Worship the Compassionate Supreme Power. Let the grace and blessings of Christ flood into your life and the lives of all those around you.

Spiritual Practices Are A Must For All

There arises a question – are spiritual practices for all or only those who are inclined to spirituality?

The answer is: Spiritual Practices are for all, at the levels at which they can easily practise. Only spiritual practice help to protect ourselves from the fast paced life we live today and all its negative effects.

In today’s world there is tremendous competition and stress. Cut throat practices help most to survive and remain on top. These crippling practices shatter the body and mind. In the rat race of today’s world, those who win are losers and losers are already losers. Life revolves around possession, prestige, post, power, greed and glamour.  Caught in this vicious circle, there is no respite for man.

Every person needs to evolve and grow. And this is possible only by spiritual practices. The spark of Divinity that is within us – our Consciousness – demands that we evolve and we grow. This is possible only when we are protected from negativity around us. Negative energies & forces around us negate and neutralize the creative energies within us which foster growth.

When we practise mantra japa, reading of sacred books – poothi parayana, regular visiting of temples, recitation of slokas, meditation, the higher chakras in our system are activated. Devotion purifies our emotions and mind and guides our thinking. When we submit ourselves to the will of God in love and gratitude our devotion increases and we are protected from the negativities and vagaries of life.  As our practices increase, and devotion blossoms & becomes pure, the third eye develops. Intuition and ability to see and understand the will of God and the grand plan of creation come by itself. Fear, anger, jealousy and other negativities within us fall off. We feel the invisible hand of God protecting us at all times.

The spiritual practices of the Siddha Mantra Japa – Sita Ram and other mantras and Meditation, and service to Guru are the easiest way to living a meaningful life. Our progress in material life and spiritual life goes on smoothly. We see the blessings of God and the hand of Guru protecting us at all times.

Asking questions to the Guru

When the disciple sits in front of the Guru, it is darshan. Darshan in silence is the most beneficial. The boost one receives from the Guru’s Aura is powerful and will affect the quality of mantra japa and meditation later. The radiation from the Guru’s body means exposure to cosmic light and cosmic sound of Aum. Sitting in front of the Guru in silence gives great peace to body and mind. The emanations of Love and Peace from the Guru permeate the system and heal.

When the disciple is with the Guru, he should sit in respectful silence. There is no need to ask questions. His focus should be on the Guru. He must pay full attention to what the Guru is saying. By doing so, he will learn invaluable lessons which are difficult to learn and know and can’t be otherwise easily learnt. The Guru knows what information is needed for  boosting the disciple’s progress and what knowledge to impart and which questions to answer. There is no need for the disciple to ask.

If the disciple sits in front of the Guru with his focus on the questions he seeks to ask, the darshan will be incomplete. All his attention and energy will be focused on the question to be asked and he will wait for the right opportunity to ask the question. The attention will be on the gaps in the talks in order to raise the questions and not in the meaning of what the Guru speaks. By doing so he loses both the knowledge imparted by words and also will not be able to absorb the radiations and blessings from Guru as there is no silence in him.

There is no need to ask questions to the Guru. He answers most of the questions unasked. Even if the question is not answered by the Guru, the blessings of the darshan always smoothens the problems and the solution to the problem is arrived at. Generally the disciple wastes his entire energy and attention in asking a question of no consequence to growth of self or spiritual rising. The disciple should speak only when the Guru asks him if he wishes to ask something.

The Guru has enormous capacity to give. Let the disciple sit in silence and take as much as he can.

Darshan

Darshan means to see. In Sanskrit, Darshan or Darsana means ‘sight’, ‘vision’ or ‘glimpse’. It is not seeing a thing or person. It is a glimpse of Divinity.  It means to see a Guru or Murti  (Image of God) at the place of worship. The effects of Darshan go far beyond mere seeing. In Darshan there are no talks or prayers. There is silence and communication. There is a connection between the seer and seen, between man and God, between creation and Divinity.  In the initial stages, the connection is felt. In later stages, the sense of sight follows the sense of feeling, and there is a vision or glimpse. It is the connection of Consciousness of the self with that of the Divine Consciousness. Through Darshan there is an expansion of Consciousness.

In temples, the entire place and specifically the area where the Image or Murti of God is kept – the Garbagraha , is charged with higher vibrations. When we go to the temple, we look at or see the Murti of God in silence. A connection forms by which a blessing flows from the Murti  of God to us.  In that silence many truths are revealed to us. These truths can be about life, about personal problem, higher insights about self and Divinity. And this blessing is received every time one goes to the temple for darshan. In advanced stages, a mere thought of being in a place of worship is sufficient to receive the blessing.  Further advancements results in blessings being received at the appropriate time even if there has been no visit to the place of worship or no thought even.

A darshan is an intimate communion between the Guru and disciple. The disciple sits in the aura radiating from the Guru. The emanations of energy from the Guru enter into the disciple elevating his thinking and consciousness. A field of awareness is created in which there is transmission of blessings from the Guru to the disciple and uplifts him. The disciple sitting in the radiance of the Guru’s aura and chakras receives light emanations from them and through the aura of the Guru, truth of life and creation is transmitted to the disciple. Timeless wisdom, divine truth, universal principles of life are effortlessly transmitted to the disciple. It is often difficult to receive these directly from Divinity, because the individual might not have prepared sufficiently.  However, in the presence of the Guru, all insufficiencies are helped to be overcome by the Guru and the Guru bridges the individual and Divinity.

When you go to the temple or to visit a Guru, go with an open heart. Keep aside ego and pride. Stand in front of the Guru or Deity in silence and let the magic work through you. This is a holy experience of self with God. It is an opportunity to receive old revelations in light of the level of progress you have made, your current reality, which makes life so fresh, beautiful and uplifting.

SitaRam Mantra

The Sita Ram Mantra is a wonderful mantra that is beyond the limitations of space, time and purity. Ram is the all Omnipresent Consciousness, within and without us and Masculine Energy.  Sita is the Shakti of Universe, the Power and the Feminine Energy.  She is the Kundalini Shakti and Ram is Truth & Virtue, the Super Consciousness with whom the Kundalini Shakti merges to give enlightenment and experience of merger of self with the Cosmic Power.

In Hinduism, Ram is considered as ‘MarayadaPurushottam’, the perfect man, and Sita his consort is the perfect example of womanhood. Both exemplify the heights of perfection a human being can achieve.

Ram is bija mantra of the Manipur chakra or Solar Plexus. Chanting the Sita Ram ignites the inner fires which cleanses all physical, mental and karmic impurities. The Will to work & achieve and Wisdom to take the right path to do so, develop with the chanting of Sita Ram. Sita born of Mother Earth represents the Muladhara Chakra.  She is the Earth element in our systems.  She is also the Kundalini Shakti residing in the Muladhara Chakra. Chanting the Sita Ram grants us health, wealth and abundance in life which are the blessings of the Muladhara Chakra or Sita.
.
The constant chanting of the Sita Ram Mantra brings us in touch with our spiritual roots and increases our longing for God. The inner chanting of SitaRam vibrates all the nadis and chakras of the system bringing about cleansing and harmony in the systems. The vibration releases all the toxins from our body and brings equilibrium to the imbalances in our body. As we chant, we experience a deep state of peace and relaxation. Regular chanting dissolves habitual stresses and tensions. Our negative karma burns and dissolves and our inner bliss begins to blossom in us. When we chant SitaRam consistently and in a disciplined manner, we find exuberant vitality and bliss engulfing us. Bhakti or love for God increases. The ego melts away and vanishes.  We live in this world performing our normal duties, yet live in inner peace and ecstasy.

Sita is negative and feminine aspect and Ram is positive and masculine aspect of Godhood. When SitaRam mantra is chanted the feminine and masculine aspects of self are balanced. The yin and yang remain balanced and steady. Both sides of the brain are balanced. This helps to still the monkey mind, the mind becomes calm and gradually the senses come under control. This brings about a wholesome development of personality and character. We become one in thought, word and deed. What we think, we speak and do. There is integration of thought, word and deed in self.  There is steadfastness in behaviour and character. We become straightforward and sincere.  The potential in self blossoms and develops to fullest. SitaRam brings about progress and prosperity in both material and spiritual worlds.

The vibrations of SitaRam form a strong cover,  & shield, which protects us from the negativity around us. We are protected from all evil, psychic attacks and possible harms.
.
The power and vibration of SitaRam mantra change a person in entirety. The peace and inner bliss reflect on the face as tejas or spiritual glow. The improved physical and mental health, balance, prosperity, improved relationships, the connection with inner self and God bring about fulfillment in life. The SitaRam mantra leads us ultimately to supreme self realization.

Satyam Vada, Maduram Vada - Speak truth but speak with sweetness

One of the first dictum of good living is speak the truth. This is taught by all religions of the world. Truth is God. God is Truth. For Truth IS. Truth never changes. Hence speaking of truth is advocated.

Speaking the truth has many advantages. One has to remember just the truth. It does not change. One does not have to recall the various lies and ‘versions of truths’ told to all. A person who speaks lies needs a sharp memory to recall the different things spoken to various people.

Many speak the truth bluntly. Many a times, truths are spoken to put down the other person or hurt him.  Before speaking such truths we say: ‘I am going to tell you something but don’t feel bad about it!’ Meaning I am going to speak something that will make you feel bad!

Truth is always spoken with love, with sweetness. When you have respect for the other person, the words will always come out without hatred, rancour or need to put down. Truth spoken in such a way has power to heal and transform the other. Truth spoken with love and respect has humility in it and hence has no sting in it. Truth is spoken with gentleness. There is an attitude with which Truth is spoken! Speak Truth with attitude of respect and gentleness.

When ones ethics and principles are  in question, the Truth is spoken with strength, firmness and conviction. There is no need to scream out the Truth. For Truth is strong in itself.

Parents teach us to speak the truth. Public forms and declarations demand truth. Hence speaking truth seems to be a legal obligation and a moral one. Where there are obligations there are differences in understanding, perception and interpretation

When truth is spoken for sake of truth it is easy to adhere to. It is a personal choice and not forced upon. Hence it is not an external obligation or compulsion. Hence speaking Truth is easier to follow and stick to. When truth is spoken with respect and sweetness, it becomes a way of life. Living this way adds fullness to our intrinsic value.

While truth is one, understanding of truth is coloured by on our moods, likes and dislikes and level of maturity and development. What is truth may be perceived as untruth by another as he has lack of complete information or understanding.

Truth spoken with love, respect and humility adds effervescence to the Light within us.

Fear is Key to Improvement

Man is generally good, dutiful and loving towards his family. He cares for himself, his relatives, society and nation. He tries to do what is expected of him.

When it comes to improvement in self and self transformation, man knows what is good for him but he will rarely act upon his understanding. Even making changes in lifestyle for sake of health is very difficult as habits are very set and the mind set refuses to change. He knows that exercise is good for him, yet he will find it difficult to go for regular walks. Even when the doctor gives a warning regarding taking care of health and control over food, man still finds it difficult to change himself. It takes repeated pain and damage for man to notice that he must change himself. Sometimes it takes threat of death for him to change his habits and mindset. Fear is one of the keys to being good!

In our relationships with friends and family fear again is the key factor to good behavior and change for better. We fear losing the love of our parents, brothers, sisters, husband, wife, lover, friend etc. Many of us often do right things so that we please them and not because we want to do the right thing.

In the spiritual path too we all know what is good for us. We still find it difficult to change our habits, our mindset and our thoughts. Most of us know there is a God out there but have not experienced Him. So foolishly we feel that what He does not know won’t hurt Him. Or that it won’t hurt us.

Only when one has great love for God and Guru, do changes come in self in a voluntarily manner. The love received from God and Guru is incredibly sweet. The fear of loss of Grace and such wonderful love makes us walk the straight path. Fear that if we don’t change and improve may cause pain or anger to Guru/God or loss of grace & love makes us walk the straight and painful path of righteousness. The fear we have of Guru or God increases our love for Guru and God. It makes us a better disciple, follower and bhakta.

Fear and Bhakti are connected! And this definitely leads to improvement in self and life.

Fear is a factor of self improvement!

Purity and Goodness

In the world today there are thousands of good people who do their best in the roles allotted to them in life: as son, daughter, wife, husband, worker, employer, social worker etc. Such people are termed as ‘good’ people. They are the pillars of the family and society. When such people wish to rise on the spiritual path they need to add a different set of rules to their daily lives.

The understanding of the terms- ‘good person’ and ‘pure person’ in spirituality are different from worldly usage of terms - ‘good person’ and ‘pure person’. The term ‘good person’ is used a lot in our daily speech A person may be very good human being, a good mother, a good student, a good father, a good employee, a great social worker etc. He may do all his appointed duties very well and then some more. He may take care of poor and homeless and do service to mankind day and night. In spiritual terms, such a person is only ‘good’ but not ‘pure’.

‘Purity’ in a person comes from chanting the Holy Name or Nama Japa or Mantra chanting. The purifying power of the Name should vibrate through every cell of the body. It should sear through the body, mind and emotions. This will purify the person in entirety. Dhyan with the mantra or holy name is also a very effective way of attaining purity.

Do the namasmaran or chanting of the Ram Nam at all times of day and night.

Start from being the good person you are and aim towards becoming a pure person.

Importance of Paush Month

The Paush Month has begun. It starts on 11th December 2011 and ends on 9th January 2012. It is the tenth lunar month in the Hindu Calender. In Hinduism, this month is considered inauspicious for material work and progress. Generally no marriages, sacred thread ceremony, moving to new house are done during this month. That means the month is free for progress in spiritual sphere.

During Paush month strive for spiritual excellence and lessen the focus on material things. This month has many festivals which have spiritual significance. The Sankat Chaut, Paush Sankranti, Safala Ekadashi, Shanaishchari Amavasya, Vaikunta Ekdashi, Paush Poornima are some of the holy days of the month on which fasting is done and the Lord is worshipped. Dana or donations are also given. The Shakambari Navrati or Paush Navrati is celebrated in North India.

You should use this month for your personal spiritual development. Use the holy vibrations in the atmosphere and follow the festivals and uplift yourself.

Rama Nama Chanting

Chant the name of Ram at all times in your mind. It does not matter if the chanting is mechanical. Or you do it out of fear or respect of your Guru or God. Or that you chant the holy name knowingly and or unknowingly. The holy name always blesses. You will get peace. As you keep chanting, the power of the Holy name and its vibrations over take you. Sooner or later you will chant the name with feelings of love of God and surrender. That is the power of name of Ram.

Fragrance of the Ram Nam and the Rose Bush

The rose flower attracts us with its delicate beauty and fragrance. As we go near the flower we need to take care of the thorns.

There are no roses without thorns.

Our body is the rose bush – full of thorns. Kama (lust), krodha (anger), lobha (greed), moha (delusion), mada (pride) and matsarya (jealousy) rear up their ugly sharp heads and prick those who come near us.

The head with the sahasrar or the thousand petal flower/lotus is the rose. When the sahasrar flowers with bhakti and love of God, it is very attractive and fragrant. This prize is sought by man. Then no one minds the pricks of the thorns below for the thorns become blunt.

The lure of the beauty of the blossom and its rich fragrances which is bhakti and grace of God entices man. Man learns to handle his own negative qualities or the thorns in the right way for the desire of Grace and Love of God.

Systematic, disciplined and regular chanting of Ram Nam will bring forth the fragrances in one’s life. Always do the Ram Nam japa daily.

Tarak Mantra - Ram Nam

Ram Mantra is called the Tarak Mantra. Taraka in Sanskrit is a star. The star shines from heavens and traverses space to guide the traveller across the ocean or across vast empty lands where there are no landmarks. The taraka mantra is a shining light, a guide to help liberate oneself from the cycle of births and rebirths.

Crossing the Bhavasagar or the Ocean of Material Life is not easy. But it becomes effortless when one has a Siddha Guru and Guru Mantra. The Guru is the raft and the Mantra is the paddle which helps one glide through life effortlessly in the right direction and right way.

Always do the mantra japa of Ram nam/SitaRam

Om Shree Ganeshaya Namah

I welcome you all to my blogspot. All those who thirst and yearn for God and seek His love and peace, join me on this wonderful journey. Before we start our walk, let us pray to Shree Ganesha for His blessings and success in our venture.

Before doing any work think of Ganesha and pray to Him. His subtle residence within us is in the Muladhara Chakra.

Seek Him within yourself. He is Vigneshwara – Destroyer of all hindrances and obstacles in the work you are doing.

He is Pranava or Omkar – the Ultimate Knowledge. His Grace gives you knowledge in the areas you seek.

Riddhi and Siddhi are His Shaktis/Powers and they serve Him. They bless those who worship Him with success in material life and spiritual powers.
